BluePoetic.com to become… PoetGeek.com

Posted by bluepoetic on June 19, 2007

Yep… after about 3 years or so I am switcning from BluePoetic.com to PoetGeek.com. Make a note. BluePoetic.com will still be available as I make the transition. PoetGeek.com is a more accurate name, and so gosh darn easy to remember and tag. Plus, with some upcoming format changes, the new site will have a lot more to offer. Check back soon!

Until then, yours,
Eric

Romantic Moment

Posted by bluepoetic on June 7, 2007

Not one of mine, a poem by Tony Hoagland, but I wanted to share it here…

Romantic Moment

After seeing the documentary we walk down Canyon Road,
Into the plaza of art galleries and high end clothing stores

Where the mock orange is fragrant in the summer light
And the smooth adobe walls glow fleshlike in the dark.

It is just our second date, and we sit down on a bench,
Holding hands, not looking at each other,

And if I were a bull penguin right now I would lean over
And vomit softly into the mouth of my beloved

And if I were a peacock I’d flex my gluteal muscles to
Erect and spread the quills of my cinemax tail.

If she were a female walkingstick bug she might
Insert her hypodermic probiscus directly into my neck

And inject me with a rich hormonal sedative
Before attaching her egg sac to my thoracic undercarriage,

And if I were a young chimpanzee I would break off a nearby treelimb
And smash all the windows in the plaza jewelry stores.

And if she was a Brazilian leopardfrog she would wrap her impressive
Tongue three times around my right thigh and

Pummel me softly against the surface of our pond
And I would know her feelings were sincere.

Instead we sit awhile in silence, until
She remarks that in the relative context of tortoises and igunanas,

Human males seem to be actually rather expressive
And I say that female crocodiles really don’t receive

Enough credit for their gentleness,
Then she suggests that it is time for us to go

To get some ice cream cones and eat them.

Moments

Posted by bluepoetic on May 25, 2007

There is a couple arguing on the street-corner
In plain daylight
In front of everyone
About neglect, about not fulfilling expectations

As a second couple walks past them holding hands
She looking up into his eye
He pulling her into a close embrace
And making it clear to everyone they are smitten

While the third couple spills out onto boulevard
From the small coffee shop
Laughing aloud for all to hear
While she giggles, he looks into the sky

Of Salubrity

Posted by bluepoetic on May 11, 2007

New Poetry:
Of Salubrity

This has ever been so
rankled loose upon illumined pastures
risen high on ascension
released in refreshment
and all are so aware
seeing, the song of joy
in the spirit of every moment
every blink
it’s a time implosion
a ticking that soothes
itself peacefully
against the smoothness
of moist lips
where tears float upwards
effervescent
a blue so cool and aware
that heals from inside
in as much,
that these callused hands could
hold aloft the tenderness for you

It is only I, the salubrious
who calls out to the appeased
that hails yearning in your light
for we are just passing spirits
comets scarring the day sky
full of hubris, full of direction
crying ululations of life
as we soar on by
our alabaster and tanned skins
our enlightened flight

To endure this much
is all that you can ask
to hope for life
to which all reach to grasp
all can yearn and
affirm, manifest
and so before nightfalls
when the light beckons the eve
rise from such slumber
of a restored soul
with visions that halo
circling your crown
suring your step
of a love
that is always within

La Jolla 1/2 Marathon… CHECK.

Posted by bluepoetic on April 22, 2007

La Jolla 1/2 Marathon - Eric Williamson - BluePoetic.com

Congrats to everyone who came out, ran, and finished the La Jolla 1/2 Marathon. It was a certainly an exhausting, hill-fraught course, but a fun challenge nonetheless! I was happy to round the final curve of the course in La Jolla, and cross the Finish Line near the Cove, to all the whoops and cheers.

Congratulations again to all! -Eric

Crown of Love

Posted by bluepoetic on April 19, 2007

They say it fades if you let it. Love was made to forget it.
I carved your name across my eyelids. You pray for rain, I pray for blindness.

If you still want me, please forgive me, the crown of love is fallen from me.
If you still want me, please forgive me, because the spark is not within me.
